Australian Scholarly Communications Community of Practice

About

The Australian Scholarly Communications Community of Practice (AuSCCoP) is an initiative of Open Access Australasia, CAUL, and Creative Commons Australia.

The AuSCCoP focuses on Scholarly Communication, including innovative approaches, Open Access, Open Science, especially, but not exclusively, related to developments in this region. The Community of Practice provides a forum for:

  • exchange of ideas
  • information sharing
  • peer support
  • exploration of issues
  • discussion of recent developments and practices
  • community-led training or professional development.

There are two sub-groups of the Australian Scholarly Communications Community of Practice:

Group operations

Membership

Membership is open to anyone in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand from an academic, research, or cultural institution or organisation who is interested in scholarly communication. Other individuals will be admitted if appropriate. All membership applications will be assessed by OAA or CAUL staff.

Subscriptions are monitored to keep the group safe. You will receive an email with more information once your subscription has been processed, which may take a couple of days.

Meetings

The group meets monthly on the second Thursday of each month at 1pm AEST. Register for meetings here.

Convenors

Co-convenors are drawn from the Community of Practice Membership and support the general operation of the Community of Practice.

The co-convenors for 2025 are:
