Sarah Howard is University Librarian at Griffith University, bringing more than two decades of experience in Australian higher education. Throughout her career, Sarah has championed digital transformation and student success, integrating emerging technologies into library services and fostering culturally respectful, inclusive practices. Her commitment to open access stems from a belief that equitable access to knowledge is foundational to communities. Sarah is a strong advocate for open scholarship and brings a collaborative approach to shaping the future of academic libraries.
Dr Gary Pearce is the Director, Academic Services, Monash University Library. In this role he provides leadership in library research and education support along with outreach and engagement. He has many years experience in leading collaborative teams to deliver services, and is interested in operating and service delivery models that enhance the visibility, reach, impact and responsiveness of library services. He has led and supported different open scholarship projects over many years, including CAUL’s project to develop a framework for Open And FAIR Non-Traditional Research Outputs.
Nicole Clark is an experienced university sector leader and the University Librarian at Queensland University of Technology, with extensive experience in scholarly communication, research support, and sector‑wide collaboration. She brings a strong commitment to open access, equitable knowledge sharing, and sustainable publishing models, alongside a proven record of strategic leadership, service innovation, and inclusive practice across the higher education sector. She is passionate about education and libraries and the role they play for social good. She lives and works on Turrbal and Yugara land (Meanjin / Brisbane, Queensland).
Richard White is Manager, Copyright and Open Access at Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka | University of Otago, with a professional focus on open access policy, copyright, and equitable scholarly communications in Aotearoa New Zealand. He is also a member of the OA Week international advisory committee.
Emma McLean is Associate Director, Scholarly Communications and Repositories at UNSW Sydney. She leads services supporting open access, research reporting, research data management, and the University’s institutional repository, UNSWorks. Emma has extensive experience in scholarly communication and has contributed to the development and implementation of open access policies, rights retention initiatives, and repository infrastructure at UNSW. Her work focuses on supporting researchers and strengthening the visibility and accessibility of the university’s research outputs.
Janet is the Program Manager for Open Access Australasia and has been with OAA since 2022. Janet has worked as a research-focused academic librarian in universities for over twenty years in the US, Canada and Australia, most recently working at James Cook University as a health librarian. Janet has a defining interest in open research and scholarly communications and has conducted her own research in this area as well as in health. Janet also serves as Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Librarianship and Scholarly Communication, a diamond open access journal based in the United States.
