Each year the Global Sustainability Coalition for Open Science Services (SCOSS), an initiative of SPARC Europe, works hard to facilitate crowd funding to help ensure the long-term sustainability of the world’s Open Science infrastructure. SCOSS provides the framework and funding structure and vets potential candidates based on a vigorous evaluation.
The Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL) is a founding member of SCOSS, and CAUL and Council of New Zealand University Librarians (CONZUL) institutions have provided much needed financial support for SCOSS-endorsed infrastructure which has included DOAJ, Sherpa/RoMEO, OAPEN/DOAB, Open Citations, and Public Knowledge Project (PKP).
In the second of our 2022 Webinar series (below), SCOSS Coordinator Agata Amorka, Chair of SCOSS Board, Martin Borchert, & CAUL Director, Content Procurement Angus Cook, presented the case for the third round of endorsed infrastructure for crowd funding for three open source programs; arXiv, Redalyc/AmeliCA, DSpace.
